Steven Jobs’s fourth turning point.
By Augustine
“I was kicked out from the Apple company? Hell no! I quit! Apple was my company, home, and son. I will never forgive them, those unscrupulous, cheap, and despicable chairmans. I will come back one day, you will see.” I cried loudly in front of the bar. I screwed myself up and tried to drink as much as I could. Hopefully I can drink away my problems.
I called Laurene before I went into the bar and said that I had a very important meeting at Apple so I would be late a little. Yes, I lied, who doesn’t? I don’t want her to worry about this. I will handle it.
“Hey, bartender. Give me something strong would you?” I shook my goblet.
“Yes, sir.” She took two glass battle of unknown liquid and poured them into a cup. Then she shook the cup slowly for about 20 seconds. “Here you are, sir. Be careful, this has strong delayed effects.”
“Thank you, it’s perfect for me.” I look at this cup and sipped a little bit, and it tast good.
Time to go home, I thought one night of slacking off is enough. I putted down my cup and paid the bill, walked out the door. The sky was dark but clear to see the moon. Moon light just spray on my face. Suddenly, I felt a release. All the stress was gone. I needed a good deep sleep.
Walking on my own, I heard only my own footsteps and--- an other set of footsteps behind me. At first I didn’t really pay attention to them. I thought he was just another guy. So, I stopped walking, let him pass a way but he also stopped walking and stood behind me. I started to worry that maybe he has a drug addict wanting some money from me. But I was afraid to turn my head back.
“What.. what do you want from me?” I calmed myself down and said, “I have only 100 dollars, please take anything you need and leave.”
“I don’t want your money!” A voice came out from a young kid. Oh, shoot! He doesn’t want money? A robber doesn’t want money... then does he want to take my life?!
“Please don’t hurt me, I will do anything you want.” He didn’t sound like want to hurt me but I needed figure out want it was he wanted.
“I just want to borrow a few seconds Mr. Jobs.” He siad.
“Me? Sure, what is it about? Do you mind if I turn myself back?” I tried to see his face but his face was covered by his hood.
“Sure, my name is Augustine Tsen, you can called me Augustine. I am here because I want to do business with you.”
“Business? What kind of business?”
“This place is not the right place to talk about it, please follow me.” He walked away. No doubt that I would follow him. “Fine.” I said.
He walked into the bar I just left. He picked a small corner and sat down. “Would you like something to drink?” He said. His face was still covered by his hood. I could only see his chin.
“No, I am fine. Thank you.” I sat down in front of him and said, “what is it about?” It was not polite but he was not polite in the first place.
“About your future Mr. Jobs. I am selling your future.” He said it soundlessly.
“Hum? How exactly?” I asked.
“You were working for the Apple company, is that correct ?”
“Yes, and...?”
“You have been kicked out from your own compony?”His sound was a little sarcastic but I am more interested in what is he wanted to sell to me and what does he wanted.
“Yes, indeed, I couldn’t be more sad if I had then lost my own son, my own empire.”
“Here is an offer, would you like to take it?” Augustine took a disk and put it on the table.
“What is this?”
“Oh, Steven. This is your future. Inside of it has a document. Read it and I will see you tomorrow at the same time. Goodbye.” He dropped money for his drink on the bar and walked hurries to the door. When I ran out, I tried to searching for his shadow but I couldn’t see anything but darkness.
Back home, I turned on my computer, and put the disk inside. It’s loading... loading... and loading. I started to doubt, is it a new virus? It took 10 minutes to load. Surprisingly, this disk has 200GB. How amazing is that! That’s like 204800 mb or 209,715,200 kb. That is a tremendous space to use. AMAZING!
I couldn’t wait to read the file. I found out some words that were familiar. Such as “Mac”, “iPod”, “iCon” and some new words “iPhone”, “iPad”. The file didn’t show much about how to do it. Just many pictures and information. But I was astounded! This was way too far from the technology right now. I can’t wait till tomorrow. I have lots things to discuss with him.
The next day, Laurene passed me two papers and an other disk. I admit, he surprised me again. One paper was a contract to sign, one paper was a messenge he left for me.
Dear Steven Jobs:
When you read this I believe you will have a clue as to what is going on. I hope you will keep this secret between you and me. After 15 years, you will be extraordinary. And I 100% believe you will use everything that’s from the disk. I wish you will do just one thing for me. The other paper is a contract. After 20 years you will give Augustine Tsen 10% of your properties. That all I need. Enjoy of your future.
Augustine Tsen
....
After 15 years. I rebuilt my Mac empire. And I will never forget my fourth turning point. This point is hidden in my deepest memories. No one will ever know except Augustine and I.
The end.
